Who we are
A University of Alicante association
Multitec is a non-profit, multidisciplinary association open to anyone who is into science or technology. The point of it is a community where we share what we know, pass information around and learn new things together.
We are more than a community. Multitec is a family, built on a shared urge to go further both technically and personally. We want to be a meeting point, a bridge between working life and academic life, and a reference for new ways of learning.
There are more than 250 of us right now.

Sharing what we know
We pass around what we find: job openings, grants, calls and science and technology news, in the members’ groups and on social media.
Events
We run Gamejam Alicante, the Cienciathon and workshops all year, and we take part in DevFest, NASA Space Apps and the UA’s own days. Members see them from the inside, as staff.
Projects
A rocketry club, 3D printing, Arduino and robotics, the Minecraft server, this very website. If you have an idea, put it on the table: there are 250-plus members to build it with.

Being a Multitec member does not end with the card. You get a private portal that gathers, in one place, the association's services and your own details: your record, your fee, your accesses and whatever the community has been up to.

What do I get out of joining?
- Welcome pack: A T-shirt, a pen and an MT wristband, waiting for you when you arrive.
- The internal groups: Our WhatsApp, Telegram and Discord groups, so you always know what is happening.
- A say in the assemblies: You speak and you vote at the general assemblies, where the decisions that matter get made.
- The Multicasa: A members-only space on campus, with study desks, 3D printers, electronics and a console. It is described above, under The Multicasa.
- The shared Minecraft server: Play on the association's Minecraft server with your friends.
- Rooms at the EPS: You can book work and event rooms at the School of Engineering.
- Web hosting: Sites and APIs hosted under the multitecua.com domain.
- The elections: You vote in the board elections, and you can stand in them.
- Free resources and workshops: Everything the association organises is free once you are in.
- Members-only kit and events: Gear, events and more, put together for members and nobody else.
Who can be part of Multitec?
Any student or graduate of the University of Alicante who is interested in innovation, in learning past the syllabus and in having a good time. Your degree and your faculty make no difference, and you can join at any point. People from outside the UA can join if they have won a prize at one of our events.
When can I sign up?
Whenever you like. We run all year round, so joining halfway through the term is normal and you have not missed anything.
How do I join?
To join Multitec, go to the sign-up page and pay the annual fee of 12 €. The board approves you within 48 hours.
Are there any requirements?
None beyond an interest in technology and innovation, and a willingness to work and learn alongside other people.
How do I get involved in Multitec's projects?
The internal projects are for members: join first, then pick whichever ones you like. We also run events that are open to everybody, such as Cienciathon and Gamejam Alicante.
Can I join if I am an exchange student?
Of course. MultitecUA is open to students from anywhere in the world who are studying at the University of Alicante. Come and join in — you will get a lot out of it, and so will we.
